Allen L Roland's Radio Weblog
My ongoing theme is always the truth , as I see it , and the exposure of lies, deception and manipulation wherever they exist. I remain firmly convinced that the world can no longer resist its innate urge to unite and co-operate with one another and we are very close to the point where war can no longer be an option if this transformation is to occur. GONZALES TWISTS AS BUSH & CHENEY SQUIRM

The totalitarian principles and organization of the extreme right wing neoconservative movement has a face and it is the face of Alberto Gonzales ~ who will testify tomorrow before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Yes, this is the face that launched a thousand episodes of torture and is the top legal officer of the United States.

This is the man who is the legal front man for all of the deceptions and lies of the Cheney/Bush administration ~ this is the man who will eventually bring down this badly listing ship of state.

Here is a record of his past testimony and record ~

HIS TESTIMONY HIS RECORD
Gonzales claimed he could not recall details of his role in the production of the so-called Justice Department "torture memo" of August 2002 saying, "I don't recall today whether I was in agreement with all the analysis, but I don't have a disagreement with the conclusions then reached by the [Justice] department." He actually chaired the meetings on this memo, which included detailed descriptions of interrogation techniques such as "waterboarding," which involves strapping a detainee to a board, raising the feet above the head, wrapping the face and nose in a wet towel, and dripping water onto the head to produce an unbearable sensation of drowning. He raised no objections and gave CIA interrogators the legal blessings they sought.
Gonzales declined repeated invitations to repudiate past administration assertions that the president has the authority to ignore anti-torture statutes on national security grounds. He advised President Bush in January 2002 that he had authority to exempt detainees from such protections as the Geneva Conventions.
Gonzales said "it is appropriate to revisit" the Geneva Conventions. When questioned about whether U.S. personnel could legally engage in torture under any circumstances, Gonzales said: "I don't believe so, but I'd want to get back to you on that and make sure I don't provide a misleading answer." A January 2002 draft memo signed by Gonzales stated that a "new paradigm" of a war on terrorism "renders obsolete Geneva's strict limitations on questioning

VA TECH KILLINGS SAD REFLECTION OF BUSH WORLD

The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them: George Orwell

He was a loner ~ they called him the question mark ~ he never responded when someone greeted him ~ he had deep rage and anger toward the outside world which emerged in his creative writing class ~ In March, 2007, he purchased a Glock 9 mm Pistol ~ Roanoke Firearms owner John Markell said his shop sold the Glock and a box of practice ammo to Cho 36 days ago for $571 ~ "He was a nice, clean-cut college kid. We won't sell a gun if we have any idea at all that a purchase is suspicious," Markell said ~ This is the  chilling picture that emerged Tuesday of Cho Seung-Hui ~ a 23-year-old senior majoring in English ~ a day after the bloodbath that left 33 people dead, including Cho, who killed himself as police closed in.

He was a loner ~ many, including his parents, called him a question mark ~ he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth but he continually failed at business and was always bailed out by his father's well to do friends ~ he numbed out his deep anger and resentment issues with alcohol and drugs before he conveniently found Jesus and, in essence, became a dry drunk ~ Through the help of his father's friends he became Governor of Texas and eventually President of the United states ~ He now had control of the greatest military arsenal in the world ~ He was surrounded by neocon hawks led by his self selected Vice President Dick Cheney ~  This  telling excerpt, written by Edward Spannaus,  appeared in the April 9, 2004 issue of Executive Intelligence Review ~

" It was clear to O'Neill that Cheney and a handful of others had become 'a praetorian guard' that encircled the President  ~      Richard Clarke describes the same situation, from his own vantage point. Take, for example, the context surrounding the now famous passage of Clarke's book, in which he describes how President Bush pulled him aside on the evening of Sept. 12, 2001, and told him to review all of his intelligence for any Iraqi links to the previous day's attacks. "See if Saddam did this," Bush said. "See if he's linked in any way.... I want to know any shred."   When Clarke protested that "al-Qaeda did this," and that he and his colleagues had never found any linkages between al-Qaeda and Iraq, Bush testily ordered: "Look into Iraq, Saddam " ~

The decision had already been made to 'take out Saddam' from a cold blooded place of anger and greed ~  and in March 2003 Bush preemptively and illegally attacked Iraq and is responsible for the deaths of over 3300 American soldiers, for 50,000 seriously maimed and wounded American troops and for the deaths of over 500,000 Iraqi civilians ~ Yesterday, he had his photo op visit to West Virginia saying that he was "saddened and angered by these senseless acts of violence" ~ Yet on July 29, 2005, the US Senate passed, and Bush signed, a grant of immunity from lawsuits for Walther, Glock and other gun manufacturers ~ As Greg Palast wrote ~ " Now, corporations that make hand-guns can't be sued for knowingly selling firearms to killers. Like that? No other industry has such wide lawsuit immunity -- not teachers, not doctors, not cops -- only gun makers."

Rivero's Law states that all organizations and countries will eventually reflect the character and moral values of its leaders ~ so it should not come as any great surprise that Cho Seung-Hui made the same decision, from the same place of misplaced anger, on Monday, April 15th, 2007 that George W Bush made on March 20th, 2003.

Who shall we judge harsher ~
